You are worth more than you can ever imagine. You are precious, you are a diamond, a rose, a pearl, the most stunning of all God’s creations. ROAR with us to bring this heartfelt message to each and every one of the rural furkids: For the next one, we teamed up with Change for the Better Foundation, where Dr Roos and her team (Envirovet CVC) sterilised 67 cats and dogs! The next mass sterilisation is scheduled for 8 March 2018. Our first ROAR steri day (with Dr Roos from Envirovet CVC and her team) was in August 2017 where we sterilised 27 dogs and 20 cats. To us, all souls matter and sterilisation is the key to a better future.Ĭurrently we focus mainly on animals on farms in the Wellington/Paarl area, relying fully on our passionate volunteers and support network so that together we can make a difference. We believe in working together with like-minded individuals and organisations because, in the end, there’s only one goal: to improve the lives and future of the furkids. We strive to ensure no more unwanted litters, no more hunger, no more illness without medical assistance, and improved living conditions with maintenance and feeding programmes for the community furkids under our wings. Our dream is to replace the nightmares experienced by the forgotten animal souls in communities with happy dreams and the reality of HOPE. Though having furkids of their own, “normal jobs” and families of our own, their passion has always been outreach work.Īfter being “hands-on” in animal welfare since 2011, we gradually started to focus on our big dream – that of a rural outreach organisation – and, in 2017, branched out a year later, ROAR was officially born and we were granted an NPO number (NPO 202-569) on 26 January 2018. This small organisation is led by three people – Joanne Brune, Salomie du Plessis and Louise Schoeman. We at ROAR for PAWS (Rural Outreach And Relief for Paws) do not want to be a quiet voice for the forgotten souls in rural areas we want to raise awareness with a mighty ROAR! Where STERILISATION is paramount and the forgotten souls are tops! (The handsome dog is Toby who was brought in to be micro chipped.)
