Tidal pools resto shaman4/16/2023 In 10-mans I tend to put myself in the role of the fast-reaction healer, which means I prefer low-latency spells. Wrath healing is all about reacting quickly. It takes a while to internalize the chords ("wait, cleanse spirit is something-left.") but it's simply faster then targeting and pressing a hotkey. I'll echo that click-casting is the way to go for raid healing in Wrath. Because I'm lazy (did I mention that), I havent bothered to get parses to run through that HEP tool thinger, to generate my own personal HEP values I'm reasonably certain that haste is right up there, since (lazy again) I spam CH and watch pr0n on the second monitor. I'm at ~900 haste, which typically gets my CH down to ~1.8/~1.9s. Something like ~676 (assuming full raid buffs) gets LHW and the GCD to 1s. Note that if you're typically staying with a LHW-centric rotation, you dont need the zomg huge amounts of haste that a CH spammer wants. Other than that, I'm almost solid +haste across the board - mana isnt a huge deal for me. I cant shake my Int habit (damn paladin healing), so I'm still using that +42 int JC trinket, loaded up with 2x +34 int gems. I guess you could make all the buttons mouseover macros, but then where'd you have Wind Shear bound, so you can kick Deathwhisper on CD? I heal with Grid+Clique, and if I had to go back to actually pushing buttons to heal, I'd be /wrist-ing all day long. In 5s, I find that I almost never HW, unless its like some fresh 80 tank who's crittable, and wasting my time. I almost never wind up using TF, but for if you know you'll need some oshit heals (Fester, 3 inhales), its a good time to pop it. I'm a bad, bad healer, and tend to never pull out the NS/Tidal Force emergency macro that I have (TF + HS + HW). You really, really notice it when its down. ![]() If its hit the point that you're needing to HW a lot, you'll want to interleave RT or CH after 2 HW to get the Tidal Mumble buff back up. When tank healing, its either RT-LHWx4 or RT-HW-HW-CH-HW-HW, depending on how hammered the tank is getting. I'm pretty sure that Boro (to pull a name out of a hat) tends to CH less, and LHW more.īe careful about targetting yourself with a CH - I've noticed that it has a bad tendency to not jump when you do that. With raid healing, I'm all about the RT-CH-CH-CH cycle, because I'm lazy that way. With 10s, it kinda depends on whether you're raid healing, or whether you're on a tank. Right now I'm treating my heals like DPS skills and hitting a key with my left while click-targetting with Grid, and I'm going to change all that to mouseover targetting instead. I'm thinking of making mouseover targeting macros, or even going for Clique. Any tips for healing 10s?ģ) What's the best time for which CDs? Should I be using Tidal Waves on CD, or wait for a certain situation? I assume NS is an "oh-shit" type CD, but assumptions make me look like a mule.Ĥ) Any cool mods to use? I'm pretty new to serious healing, but I use Grid. ![]() I feel like I'm wasting a lot of my talents that make HW better, though. ![]() I save Nature's Swiftness for when the tank gets smooshed. In 5-mans I just ES the tank, RT the tank and whatever squirrelly DPS there is, and CH a bunch. Should I be emphasizing Int more, though? I think these weights are for people in T9+.Ģ) Also, I don't have much of a rotation to speak of. I assume whenever there's no spirit on the piece, and especially when it's got Haste? I'm just using some basic stat weighting and Pawn for now. I know Cloth is often just as good (though leather usually has filthy Spirit on it), but I'm not sure when to best grab it. Here's some points I need to work on:ġ) Right now my healing gear is a mix of blues and 213+ epics, though I've pretty much stuck to mail. So, if I'm going to heal as Trunchok for serious in the future, I'm going to have to start working on getting better at it.
